Importation process is not as easy as it might look?

There is a lot to know and a lot to do during car import process. In addition, there are a lot of dead lines, so you can try to do everything yourself and learn from your own costly mistakes or simply use our friendly service.

First and most crucial part is to find right car at a right price.
We have agents all over Japan who physically go to main auctions and inspect the vehicles prior to auctions.
Once the car is purchased we will need to apply for Import Approval with Australian Government. The car will be destroyed if it arrives without an approval. Certainly no one wants for that to happen.
After car is purchased we will deliver it to a port of discharge in Japan and do all the customs clearance and de registration work on your behalf.
Then car is loaded on a vessel and sails to Australia.
After its arrival at port in Australia (Woollongong if it arrives to Sydney) the car has to be unloaded, quarantine will check it and steam clean if necessary.
Customs and duties are payable at that time.
Then car has to be towed to the compliance shop (you cannot drive it yet)
The car is complied and ready to be registered at RTA.

 How long does it take?

Well, there are different stages in buying car.
You can get a car tomorrow at auction but will it be your best option? In most cases it will not.

Normally our customers take about 3-8 weeks to choose the right car at a right price in Japanese auctions.
After auctions it takes about two-three weeks before it is loaded on a vessel.
Sail time is about two weeks.
After its arrival it will be around 2-3 days before it can be released from the port.
Compliance takes on average 1-2 weeks.

To summarise- once the car is purchased from an auction to do the whole car import process it will take approximately 4-6 weeks before you can drive it.
